529 West Hickory Street - Hinsdale

Design Inspiration

The basement archives of the Hinsdale Historical Society was the starting point for research of our inspiration home at 224 E. First Street and it's original coach house, now a single family home moved to it's current location just north of the original property.

Many of the home's original details and materials remain intact more than a century after their installation.  Architectural details of the original home not found in it's present state can be traced to historical photographs taken shorty after it's construction in 1893.

The understated elegance of a crested hipped roof, detailed entablature, operable shutters, narrow clapboard siding, and a locally quarried stone base are some of the vintage features that will be incorporated into the new home at 529 West Hickory Street.
